Every September, Venture Together proudly celebrates Direct Support Professional (DSP) Appreciation Month, a time to acknowledge the dedicated staff who make extraordinary lives possible for the individuals we support. This year, we recognized our DSPs with a mix of meaningful engagement, joyful celebrations, and heartfelt recognition.
Celebrating DSPs in Style
As part of the annual September DSP Appreciation month, the Executive Team visited programs across Venture Together to share updates, answer questions, and hear any comments, suggestions, or concerns from our staff. These visits created opportunities for dialogue, feedback, and relationship-building, reinforcing our commitment to listening and learning from those on the frontlines of our mission, our valued employees.
Our month-long appreciation concluded with a lively Staff Appreciation Party celebrating the incredible work and dedication of all of our staff. With music from a DJ, a fun photo booth, lawn games, raffles, prizes, and delicious food, it was a night filled with fun, laughter, dancing, community spirit, and confirmed the family-like culture with our agency. The highlight of the event was the announcement of our 2025 DSPs of the Year.
DSP of the Year Honorees
Kettlie Sapini – Lauber House
Nominated by Louis Jean, Kettlie has been with Venture Together for 14 years. She is admired for her deep compassion and her ability to treat every individual as family.
“Venture is not just a job for Kettlie. She does all she can to keep individuals safe and happy, and truly cares about their well-being.”
Kettlie is known for bringing joy by singing, dancing, and creating memorable activities, while also mentoring new staff with patience and leadership.

Wayne Ford – Venture Select Day Habilitation
Nominated by Eric Hayden and Malachi Howard, Wayne has been part of Venture Together for 10 years. He is celebrated for his leadership, dedication, and ability to build profound connections with the individuals he supports.
“Wayne is always available to assist other staff. He connects with the individuals on a deeper level, going beyond surface conversations to show true care for their well-being.”
His compassion and consistency have made him a trusted and beloved presence.
