Another summer at Camp Venture has come to a close, and we can’t help but smile at all the joy, laughter, and memories made together.
From the start, our days were packed with activities that campers look forward to year after year: swimming, sports, games, arts & crafts, and plenty of time with friends. But what makes Camp Venture so special isn’t just the activities, it’s the feeling of belonging. As Julie Langdon, our Director of Recreational Services, often says:
“Camp Venture is more than activities. It’s a place where everyone can shine.”

This summer was also packed with incredible special events. We welcomed back Charlie and the Bubble Factory, filling the campgrounds with bubbles, and magicians who brought wonder to our days. Additionally, the very special guest, John Elliott, meteorologist from CBS News New York, spent a day with us! John gave an engaging meteorology presentation to our campers, toured our Equestrian Center and Tech Center, and featured Venture on CBS Sunday Morning News on Sunday, July 17, sharing our powerful mission and message of inclusivity with the wider community.
What sets Camp Venture apart is its commitment to creating an inclusive space where everyone can belong.
“We want everyone to feel good about what they’re doing...Not everyone likes every activity, and that’s okay. We meet campers where they’re at and help them find joy in their own way.”
-Julie Langdon
That spirit is shared by the campers too. When asked to describe camp in one word, the responses came quickly: “Magnificent.” “Awesome.” “Two thumbs up.”
As we look back on this season, we’re so proud of the experiences we created together and the memories that will last a lifetime. Camp Venture has always been more than just a summer program—it’s a place where everyone can shine.
