The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of Procurement of goods throughout the Agency and will be the key stakeholder of vendor relationships.

Venture Together, Inc. is a private non-profit organization that provides support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We offer residential, day, community habilitation, respite and employment services, an equestrian program as well as an integrated summer camp. EOE

PURCHASING MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and controlling of Procurement of goods throughout the Agency and will be the key stakeholder of vendor relationships. Other responsibilities include price and contract negotiations, planning and inventory control, driving the bidding/selection processes (RFPs/RFQs) for capital purchases and multi-year contracts, as required.

The Purchasing Manager reports to the Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field and three to five years of Purchasing experience or High School Graduate/GED with at least five years of comparable Purchasing experience.
  • Good persuasive and negotiating skills. Interpersonal skills and independent judgement necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, employees, and outside vendors.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general governmental regulations and contracts. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with numbers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software systems

Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
